Arab Parliament President Ahmed Mohammed Al-Jarwan said on Saturday that Yemen’s National Dialogue Conference (NDC), which is now moving into its second stage, represented a unique model for change.
He went on to express his hope that the conference would succeed; in particular, he said preparations had placed the NDC in a good position to address all national issues.
His comments came in a meeting with Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi in which the two reviewed progress in Yemen’s political transition process.
For his part, Hadi said that the country’s situation had improved in relation to the past two years, and that specific articles of the Gulf Cooperation Council initiative, which lay the foundation for Yemen’s political transition, had been implemented.
The President also spoke about the nature of challenges and difficulties which face all segments of Yemeni society.
"Hopes are high that difficulties will be overcome and Yemen will extricate itself out from its crisis,” he said.
