The NDC’s nine working groups continued discussing notes on their first session final reports on Sunday. The final reports themselves were presented at the conference’s second plenary session earlier this month.
Working group members also discussed the mechanism which will be used by groups as they attempt to reach a consensus on controversial items. In such cases, members should review notes and comments which were submitted by representatives of political party and societal segments on the items in question.
Also on Sunday, ex-Mauritanian Foreign Minister Mohammed Al-Hassan delivered two separate lectures to the State-Building and Southern Issue Working Groups on the drafting of constitutions.
Meanwhile, French expert Jane Mark delivered a lecture to the Southern Issue Working Group on the subject of decentralization.
On Monday, each group will continue to discuss final report notes as they attempt to move towards a consensus on all items before final votes are taken.
