NDC First Deputy Secretary General Afrah Al-Zouba met with Canadian officials on Wednesday to discuss Canadian support for Yemen’s political transition, among other matters.

Present at the meeting were Al-Zouba, Canadian Ambassador to Yemen Tom MacDonald and Ram Kamineni, the First Secretary of the Canadian Embassy in Riyadh and Project Supervisor for the Canada Fund in Yemen.

Beyond discussing support for Yemen, a focus was placed on challenges to Yemen’s political transition.

Ambassador MacDonald expressed his admiration for the National Dialogue Conference, adding that it represented a “mature political undertaking.”

For her part, Al-Zouba said Yemen was hoping for increased Canadian support of efforts to make the NDC a success.
