NDC Secretary General meets with Japanese Ambassador, organization reps

On Wednesday, NDC Secretary General Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak received Japanese Ambassador to Yemen Katsoyashi Hiyashi.

During their meeting, Hiyashi praised the NDC and congratulated bin Mubarak on the success of the NDC’s second plenary session.

He also invited bin Mubarak to visit Japan to meet with political and social figures, as well as students, there.

In response, the NDC Secretary General expressed his gratitude for the invitation and for support provided by Japan to Yemen at various levels.

They also reviewed technical cooperation between their two nations, and spoke about ways in which Yemen could benefit from Japanese experience in terms of development efforts.

bin Mubarak also met with Miriam Zambata, a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and Anna Garella, from the Doctors Without Borders Organization.

The NDC Secretary General briefed them on progress in the conference, placing a focus on both the outcomes of the second plenary session and on what is planned for the next stage of the NDC.

For their part, the representatives discussed their organizations’ activities in Yemen, which have as priorities improved healthcare and medical aid in conflict zones.
