On Saturday, in a meeting headed by NDC Vice President Sultan Al-Atwani, the Consensus Committee completed discussions on a variety of key topics, including a timetable for the NDC; the nine working groups’ plans; the structure of the NDC’s final report; and efforts by working groups to reach a consensus on certain items before them.

Keeping in mind the need to review the working groups’ planned activities, the Consensus Committee members agreed to request that group chairpersons submit their work plans in a timely manner.

Also stressed at the meeting was the need to perform a further review of the NDC’s final report for the first session, in order to avoid overlaps in individual working groups’ decisions and recommendations.
