On Sunday, with a large majority, NDC Members authorized President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi, the President of the NDC, to form a presidential committee to determine the number of regions.
The Presidential committee would be tasked with determining the number of regions in a federal state. Its decisions would be final.
The committee would also discuss the options of having six regions, four in the north and two in the south, or having two regions, one in the north and one in the south. The committee would discuss any options in order to realize the consensus in this case.
Meanwhile, in a session headed by Abu Baker Badheb, the NDC Third Plenary Session continued hearing comments from the political components of the Southern Issue Working Group's final report.
The political components praised in their comments the outcomes of the Southern Issue Working Group, which guarantee a fair solution to the southern issue.
They called on all Yemenis to support the outcomes of the southern issue in order to achieve peace and to build freedom, justice, and equal citizenship.
"A fair solution to southern issues would lead to a new Yemen without grievances and would move forward the future to realize national reconciliation,'' components said.
They stressed the importance of preserving Yemen's national identity and unity, saying that the Southern Issue's outcomes were key to handling all problems in the south.
