
The Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General Jamal Benomar congratulated on Tuesday all Yemeni people for concluding the National Dialogue Conference, described the conclusion of the National Dialogue Conference as a "historic moment for Yemen.".
He expressed his pleasure for participating in the NDC Final Plenary Session chaired by President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Statement Attributable to the Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Yemen
The Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General, Jamal_Benomar, congratulates the Yemeni people for concluding the National Dialogue Conference today, which is a historic moment for Yemen. He is pleased to have participated in the Final Plenary chaired by President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
Mr. Benomar commends the unprecedented Yemeni achievement. After being on the brink of civil war, Yemenis negotiated an agreement for peaceful change, the only such in the region. He notes that Yemen serves as a model for comprehensive national dialogue, based on transparency, inclusivity and active and meaningful participation of all political and social constituencies.
The Special Adviser says the National Dialogue established a new social contract and opened a new page in the history of Yemen, breaking from the past and paving the way for democratic governance founded on the rule of law, human rights and equal citizenship. He reaffirms the support of the United Nations and the international community to the Yemeni-led political process. The Special Adviser commends the leadership of President Hadi and the contributions of all political constituencies for this historic achievement.
