President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi received on Thursday a number of NDC members, dignitaries, politicians and intellectuals from the Taiz and Ibb governorates.
During the meeting, Hadi expressed his pleasure for the productive outcomes of the NDC, which will meet the aspirations of Yemeni people, in particular the youth.
He praised the high national spirit of citizens of the Taiz and Ibb provinces since the eruption of the September and October revolutions and during the 2011 crisis.
The President confirmed that Yemen had overcome all challenges that are targeting Yemen's security and stability.
"There are some political forces that didn’t want Yemen to get out of its crisis, but they contributed to creating burdens and problems to the country through vandalism in the economy,'' the President said.
"We confirmed to you all that a new page in Yemen's modern history started and the page of the past had closed forever,'' he added. ''We have to move forward towards a bright future and to and overcome all forms of challenges and stay away from harassment,'' he stated.
He stressed that the GCC-brokered initiative was based on preserving Yemen’s security, stability and unity, adding that he would not allow any division of Yemen as long as he is in office.
The President pointed out that the door of dialogue was opened in 2008, in a committee that was composed of 100+100, and then 50+50, and after that 15+15 and finally was composed of 4+4. All those dialogues reached a complete deadlock.
"There are constitutional grounds, local and international laws and regulations and on top of that a federal system that guarantees the unity,'' the President mentioned. He urged them to raise awareness about the NDC outcomes, describing them as a great and national success.
"In a federal system everyone will have an opportunity to participate in all levels of power, and development will have a chance as well, because all regions will have their own financial and administrative authority,'' the President noted.
"In this system we will have mini governments, which will closely monitor the issues of development, economy, and security,'' President Hadi added.
At the meeting, the attendees handed President Hadi over a document announcing "the region of Janad'' signed by a number of NDC members, dignitaries, politicians and intellectuals from the Taiz and Ibb governorates.
