President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi chaired on Wednesday the first meeting of the committee tasked with determining the number of regions in the federal state.
The meeting selected Abdul Kareem Al-Eryani and Khalid Abu Baker Baras as deputies of the President.
The President said that the meeting represents the first tasks of implementing the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and practical steps towards reflecting the NDC outcomes.
He pointed out that the federal system is a modern system in the world nowadays and most countries are working under this system in order to control the economic, administrative, and development operation without being subject to centralization.
"This system is the best and the most appropriate to preserve the unity of Yemen and there will be no prejudice to the unity as long as I am in office,'' the President mentioned.
The President said that centralization has bad impacts on people's interests and on the progress of development and investment.
"Today we draw a modern system which takes benefit of others' experiments and takes a modern and practical approach to keep up with a new era of the twenty-first century,'' he noted.
He added that the federal state can provide fast solutions to all problems with close management.
Moreover, the President underlined the importance of the role of media outlets in clarifying the real picture of the federal system and supporting the NDC outcomes.
He stressed the importance of looking to experiments from countries that are working under a federal system. He pointed out that the committee will be of national competence and does not represent a party, group, or class.
"All concepts of regional, tribal, sectarian, and confession will melt in the federal system,'' the President concluded.
