President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi chaired on Sunday a meeting of the committee tasked with determining the number of regions in the federal state.

The meeting discussed all available options in accordance with the tasks of the committee to determine the regions and the number of provinces in each region, taking into account the location, geographical proximity, and factors of culture and history.

President Hadi stressed the importance of completing this step in order to progress to the following steps of the NDC outcomes, saying that the decision reached by the committee on the number of regions would be stipulated as an article in Yemen's new constitution after the formation of the constitution drafting committee.

He added that steps must be accelerated to complete the remaining tasks in this stage until the holding of parliamentary and presidential elections.

Hadi praised all efforts being made in order to move Yemen forward into the future, urging all political powers to be ready to compete for a new future.

He called on them to close all pages of the past and to open a new one in Yemen's contemporary history.
