
President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi chaired on Sunday a meeting of the committee tasked with determining a number of regions in a federal state, where he reviewed with the committee's members a summary of what had been discussed at previous meetings as well as presentations related to a federal system and its administrative, economic, and security features.
President Hadi at the meeting confirmed that all members in the committee must bear an overall responsibility, mentioning that this historic responsibility requires accuracy and good decision making for Yemen in the context of the NDC outcomes.
Also at the meeting, all issues were discussed relating to the number of provinces in each region in accordance with the NDC outcomes and on the basis of international standards for managing a modern federal state based on equal citizenship, justice, and freedom.
The discussions also confirmed that each region will have a leading role in economic development to ensure equal living conditions in all regions through promoting cooperation and solidarity.
Moreover, the discussions said that a new constitution would determine state powers to ensure equal sharing in wealth and power in order to preserve Yemen’s security, stability and unity.
