Assistant Secretary-General of the Yemeni Socialist Party and the member of Regions' Committee Abu Baker Badheb said on Tuesday that all discussions occurred among the regions' committee' members focused on the option of having six regions in a federal state.

He added that the Socialist Party's attitude in this case was different because the Socialist Party supported the option of having two regions in a federal state, saying that this option was only thing would respond to the struggles of citizens in the southern provinces and their aspiration to achieve a real, active, and national partnership.

Badheb said in a statement made to Al-Eshtraki.Net that each member in the regions' committee had the opportunity to express his opinion about the number of regions and geographical formation of each region.

"I expressed my reservation on the option of having six regions while the rest of the committee's members agreed on this option,'' he noted.

"This kind of reservation will not prevent us from participating effectively in this project,'' he added.

He concluded his statement by saying that the Yemen's Socialist Party will not be an impediment to the country's political process despite its reservation of the option of having six regions.
