Yemen's Human Rights Minster Huria Mashhour confirmed that there is no problem in determining the number of regions in a federal state, saying that now they have become a reality on the ground.

Mashhour said in her page on Twitter that the most important thing in determining regions is the fair distribution of power and wealth and achieving integration between different parts of the country.

Also she pointed out that the Regions' Committee has taken into account the distribution of wealth while determining the regions, saying that some regions would contain oil while the other would be rich with agriculture or fisheries and noting that each region will spare no effort in supporting other regions with less resources.

"In the six-region federation the process of monitoring will be easy,'' she stated.

The decision was approved by the committee' members during a meeting chaired by President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The six agreed regions include four in the north - Azal, Saba, Janad and Tehama - and two in the south, Aden and Hadhramout.

According to the final approval of the committee the six regions would be as follows;

The first region is the region of Hadhramout which would be composed of Hadhramout, al-Mahera, Shabwa and the Socotra Island provinces. The capital of the region would be al-Mukkla.

The second region is the region of Saba, which would be composed of al-Jawf, Marib, al-Bedhae provinces. The capital of the region would be Marib.

The third region is the region of Aden, Abyan, Lahj and al-Dhalea provinces. The capital of the region would be Aden.

The fourth region is the region of Janad, which would be composed of Taiz and Ibb provinces. The capital of the region would be Taiz.

The fifth region is the region of Azal, which would be composed of Sa'ada, Sana'a, Ameran and Dhamar provinces. The capital of the region would be Sana'a.

The sixth region is the region Tehama, which would be composed of Hodeida, Rayma, al-Mahweet and Hajah provinces. The capital of the region would be Hodeida.
