Yemen's Cabinet Reviews Executive Measures Package of NDC Outcomes

In a meeting led by Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa, Yemen's Cabinet reviewed on Sunday a report on the level of achievements related to the executive measures package of NDC outcomes, which will be submitted to President Hadi for final approval.

During today's meeting, the cabinet was briefed on procedures and draft proposals to carry out the UNSC Resolution No. 2140.

The UNSC Resolution No. 2140 includes a number of issues as follows;

The electoral reform including the drafting and adoption of a new electoral law consistent with the new Constitution; the following-up of the implementation of the 20 and 11 points; the community awareness of the NDC outcomes; revising Yemen's press law;  preparing a security plan to restore the country's security and stability; appointing the members of an independent committee to investigate allegations of violations of human rights in 2011; adopting the law of transitional justice and national reconciliation.

The resolution also includes the implementation of the national strategic to combat terrorist activity in Yemen; submitting a draft law on recovering looted funds as well as the  full funding of the 2014 Strategic Response Plan for Yemen, and following up the donors to fulfill their commitments.
