
Today, President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi discussed NDC activities issues connected with Yemen’s political transition with UN Special Adivsor to Yemen Jamal Benomar and other UN experts. A particular focus was placed on Yemen’s Southern Issue in the discussions.
“Today, we’ve moved very close to complete success and are looking forward to the outcomes of the NDC, which can lay the bases for, and shape, Yemen’s future,” Hadi said at the meeting, which was held in the the capital city of Sana’a.
“The NDC is proceeding actively and positively,” Hadi added, while also praising the efforts of all political parties, other organizations and people’s participation in the NDC.
“We are currently in the midst of a crucial historic moment, with thanks to all participants who recognize this. The efforts of all will serve national interests in the end, and will merit the respect of youths and generations to come,” Hadi continued.
At the meeting, Benomar said the decisions to restructure the armed forces were necessary, part of the transitional period and could pave the way for a successful dialogue.
“The UN backs all steps and decisions by you, Mr. President Hadi, so that you can take Yemen to a safe end,” said Benomar.
