Nabila Al-Zubair, Chairwoman of the NDC’s Sa’ada Issue Working Group, has said that representatives of the General People’s Congress and its allies have agreed to cancel their participation suspension.
“I spoke with representatives of political parties in the group after the GPC and allied representatives suspended their participation in the group’s discussions on Monday - and we decided we could bring them back,” she said. “On Monday, all members attended and we continued our work as normal on Monday.”
Regarding the team’s plans, Al-Zubair said the group had formed two commissions to prepare a united vision on how to solve problems connected with Sa’ada. She added that the group would begin conducting field visits next week.
Meanwhile, French constitution-drafting expert François Frison-Roche delivered a lecture to the group on how to formulate a constitution in accordance with both regional and national frameworks.
He also spoke to the group’s members about basic constitutional definitions and mechanisms.
The group’s Field Visits Commission discussed which governorates would be visited next week, as well as which particular members would be making the trips.
