National Dialogue Conference (NDC) Secretary General Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak met on Monday with Sa’ad Arifi, the Director of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) Secretariat General in Yemen.

Arifi praised progress made thus far in the NDC, and added that it amounted to a strong indicator of success in the conference’s coming stages.

He said that the GCC had continued to pay close attention to events in the dialogue – and especially those connected with the southern issue – and stressed that the Gulf nations would continue to be supportive of Yemen’s efforts to regain stability.

Arifi also discussed challenges facing Yemen’s National Dialogue, as well as what was needed for the conference’s objectives to be met.

For his part, bin Mubarak thanked Arifi for supporting Yemen in general and the NDC in particular.
