NDC Southern Issue Working Group members are set to begin listening to political parties’ and other conference segments’ conceptions of the Southern Issue’s content.
A spokesperson for the group said that the Yemeni Socialist Party, Islah Party and Nasserite Unionist Party are expected to present their conceptions on Saturday.
The General People’s Congress, National Democratic Alliance and the Al-Rashad Party are scheduled to present their understandings on Sunday. On Monday, the Ansar Allah Party, Justice and Development Party and National Council for Peaceful Revolutionary Forces are expected to deliver their presentations.
On Tuesday, representatives from civil society organizations and youth and women’s organizations will present their conceptions; they will be followed by the Southern movement and ‘President’s List’ members on Wednesday.
During Wednesday’s meeting – which was chaired by the new chairperson Muhammad Ali Ahmed – all group members were urged to conform to high standards and give a special focus to citizen rights and the issue’s political, economic, developmental and legal dimensions.
The Working Group has already suspended field visits which were scheduled to begin on May 14. The suspension will last until all political groups and other NDC segments have presented their conceptions of the southern issue.
