President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi led a meeting with the NDC's Presidential Board, Secretariat General and the chairpersons of the nine NDC working groups on Thursday.
At the meeting, Hadi approved the working groups' plans for field visits to various Yemeni governorates. Working group committees will conduct field visits to Aden, Taiz, Hadramout, Saada, Hodeida, Marib and Mahwit starting on Saturday.
"I’ve recently had phone conversations with certain Arab leaders and discussed the committees’ responsibilities, such as collecting information about grievances, as well as their impact in all Yemeni cities," Hadi said at the meeting.
While visiting the governorates, the NDC committees will visit with public officials and representatives of organizations. Furthermore, they will meet with local citizens in an effort to get acquainted with their needs and aspirations.
The committees will also welcome the proposals and views of political and social elites, civil society organizations and various societal segments.
Hadi urged those present at the meeting to work hard to make the NDC's activities a success, and also expressed gratitude for progress already made in addressing key issues.
The president also discussed issues of security and economic stability, and placed a focus on combatting terrorism.
"Kidnappings and all acts aimed at destabilizing the country are simply criminal and terrorist in nature, as religion has nothing to do with them," he said.
