The committee on recovering funds and lands - part of the NDC’s National Issues and Transitional Justice Working Group - has requested that the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission (SNACC) submit a report on looted public funds and wrongfully-confiscated properties.
The request was made during a meeting between the committee and SNACC’s chairman and other officials on Saturday.
Chairman Hossam Sallam said his committee’s mission was to collect evidence and reports about illegal confiscations of lands and looted funds and to prepare mechanisms for recovering stolen properties.
Moreover, the committee discussed SNACC’s performance, with a focus on the obstacles which face attempts to recover lands and funds.
The committee also requested reports on state fixed assets in case the commission had them and urged SNACC to provide its vision of how corruption should be combatted - and lands and funds recovered.
