The committee on supervisory institutions - part of the NDC’s Independence of Special Entities Working Group - visited with the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission (SNACC) on Monday.
The NDC members had a discussion with SNACC Chairman Ahmed Al-Anesi, his deputy Bilqis Abu Osba and other officials on achievements anti-corruption efforts, challenges facing SNACC’s performance, the commission’s independence and how local governments intervene in its efforts.
“The Commission has not eradicated corruption. But what it has achieved so far has included budging rocks from the deep-rooted mountain of corruption,” said Al-Anesi.
“We have been facing major challenges because our mission is unwelcome,” he added.
