A team of members from the NDC Development Working Group has paid a visit to a ‘dialogue tent’ in Sana’a’s Assabeen district. There, the team met with a number of officials from labor unions, as well as representatives of civil society organizations.

The team was briefed on unions’ and organizations’ visions, submitted understandings of what actions and legislation would best serve to protect the rights of Yemeni workers both domestically and abroad.

The discussion also included a review and discussion on the unions’ legitimacy as far as Yemen’s constitution and international accords are concerned. Relevant institutions were discussed with the aim of identifying types of legislation which could ensure a broader set of rights for Yemeni workers.
