The committee on funds and land recovery - part of the NDC’s National Issues and Transitional Justice Working Group - met on Monday with senior officials from the Central Organization for Control and Auditing (COCA).

Committee members discussed the possibility of learning from COCA’s experience and reports as part of efforts to recover funds. The committee's members asked officials to supply them with information on misused public funds and wrongly confiscated or distributed lands.

The meeting also dealt with legislative and organizational issues, the resolution of which would help the NDC find ways to develop suitable mechanisms to recover misused funds and illegally confiscated and distributed lands.

The committee listened to COCA officials’ visions of how the country’s legislative system could be improved. The NDC members also agreed to hold future meetings with the officials on the matter of funds and land recovery.
