Composed of members from the NDC’s Military and Security Working Group, the army building committee met with officials from Hadhramout governorate’s Second Military Zone on Tuesday.
Committee Chairman Hatim Abu Hatim said the aim of the NDC field visits to military institutions was for NDC members to become acquainted with the general state of Yemen’s military and hear officials’ visions on how the military can best be developed.
“In light of the visits’ outcomes, the NDC will formulate policies and legal documents which can help to professionalize the armed forces,” said Hatim.
At the meeting, military and security officials delivered presentations on the challenges facing the military and security systems. They also stressed the importance of fulfilling technical and personnel needs in order to strengthen Yemen’s armed forces and bolser the nation’s security and stability.
