14 May 2013 /

While in Hodeida on Tuesday, teams from the NDC’s Rights and Freedoms and Military and Security Working Groups met with local representatives of political parties, government offices, civil society organizations and various segments of society.

The meeting came as part of efforts to enhance community participation with - and raise public awareness about - the National Dialogue Conference.  A particular spotlight was placed on the NDC’s key topics.

Separately, teams from the Good Governance, State-Building and National Issues and Transitional Justice Working Groups held a meeting with representatives of various societal segments in Taiz governorate.

A meeting coordinated with the Al-Sa'eed Foundation for Science and Culture introduced attendees to the NDC team’s goals as they conduct field visits to various Yemeni governorates.

The NDC members listened as attendees – many of them youths – provided visions of how the nation’s youth should be engaged in processes connected with the constitution, potential forms of government, and army restructuring.
