NDC members make field visit to Dhamar

14 May 2013 /

A team from the NDC’s Independence of Special Entities Working Group met with Dhamar Governor Yahya Al-Amri and other local government officials on Tuesday. Al-Amri delivered a presentation on security and infrastructural obstacles to development.

Other officials discussed matters related to Yemen’s governance system, state structure and the possibility of an independent military, judiciary and media with the NDC team members.

Some officials also urged the NDC members to avoid conflicts between current legislation and the new constitution.

Separately, the team met with representatives of civil society organizations, youths, women and members of the NDC Technical Committee.

A number of the societal representatives expressed a desire for the NDC to play a part in ensuring that more attention will be paid to handicapped and special needs citizens, as well as the families of youths who were killed in 2011’s Youth Revolution.
