
A team of members from the NDC’S Development Working Group met on Wednesday with businessmen and women’s and laborer representatives in Hodeida governorate.
Businessmen present at the meeting discussed challenges they regularly face. In terms of the potential for Yemen’s business climate to improve, they stated that development required security stability, that widespread corruption needed to be eradicated, and also that partnerships between the public and private sectors must be improved.
Some said that legislative deficiencies have been affecting the economy, while others placed an emphasis on the need to protect national investments.
For their part, the labor and women’s representatives demanded that investors and businessmen assume a key role in reducing unemployment and protecting the poorest groups’ rights.
Separately, a team of members from the Independence of Special Entities Working Group arrived in Baidha governorate on Wednesday.
