While visiting the National Issues and Transitional Justice Working Group on Wednesday, NDC Secretary General Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak spoke about NDC field visits to various Yemeni governorates
“The job of visiting NDC teams is not to investigate or find facts, but rather to listen to the visions of targeted individuals and organizations and then to submit recommendations. The visions and recommendations will contribute to constitutional and legislative points during the drafting of a new constitution,” he added.
bin Mubarak discussed the policies of the NDC’s Media Committee, while also affirming that the Secretariat General was interested in keeping the public updated with regard to the NDC’s progress and activities.
“Success for the NDC is not restricted to meetings inside rooms; rather, it includes practical steps and field work which aim to contribute to productive outcomes,” he said.
He urged the NDC working groups to pay further attention to time constraints in order for them to complete their tasks and discussions in a positive manner.
Away from the NDC’s main site in Sana’a, committees on enforced disappearances and terrorism met with National Security and Political Security officials.
The meetings focused on enhanced cooperation and coordination between the two security services both in anti-terrorism efforts and in addressing the matter of enforced disappearances.
Enforced disappearances committee Chairman Abdu Ghalib Al-Odeini said discussions also focused on the possibility of enacting laws which could ensure and end to future violations.
Separately, the displaced persons committee made a field visit to Haradh, where they met with displaced citizens and discussed the challenges they face.
