NDC teams launch Socotra field visit

Two teams from the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) departed for Socotra Island on Saturday. The teams are composed of members from the Development and Independence of Special Entities Working Groups.

During the field visit, the NDC members will meet with local government officials and representatives from civil society organizations and educational, environmental, healthcare, and cultural institutions.

They will also meet with youths, women’s groups, fishermen and political party officials.

The visits, which will last for three days, are part of efforts to enhance community participation with the NDC. Another key reason for the visits is for NDC members to be able to listen to and record citizens’ and institutions’ ‘visions’ and proposals, which will later be taken into consideration when Yemen’s new constitution is drafted.
