19 May 2013 /

On Sunday, NDC members continued to stage a comprehensive protest to demand the immediate arrest of the individuals who murdered Hassan Jafar Aman and Khaled Muhammad Al-Khateeb.

The two young men were slain in south Sana’a on Wednesday.

Members from almost all Working Groups staged hours-long demonstrations this morning in the lobby area of Sana’a’s Movenpick Hotel.

On Saturday, the NDC Presidential Board suspended NDC activities to allow members to protest the failure of authorities to arrest and bring the guilty parties to justice.

NDC Secretary General Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak said on Sunday that President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi had met with the victims’ families and vowed that “the heinous crime would not go unpunished.”

bin Mubarak added that Hadi had ordered the Interior Minister and Chief of Staff to arrest the guilty parties.

Separately, in the meeting hall used by the Military and Security Working Group, NDC members demonstrated in response to general insecurity and the continued targeted killings of security officers, one day after General Abdullah Al-Ribaki was the victim of such a crime in Hadhramaut governorate.
