A team from the NDC’s Development Working Group has visited the local administration office for Sana’a governorate’s western districts, before proceeding to visit locations in the districts themselves.

The team met with Governor Hifzullah Jamil and discussed challenges which face local government institutions in Sana’a, which include constant administrative interference between Sana’a the governorate and Sana’a the capital.

After the meeting, the team moved to Matna, the main town in the Bani Matar district, and met with the directors of Bani Matar, Haima Dakhilya, Haima Kharijya, Saafan and Manakha.

Representatives of civil society organizations, women’s societies, youths and other associations participated in a meeting which dealt with specific challenges facing the districts.

The representatives communicated visions of how they would go about meeting these challenges to the NDC members.
