On Wednesday, members of the NDC’s Military and Security Working Group discussed its committee’s report on wrongful terminations and forced retirements.
The report included details on the committee’s field visits to military and security institutions, as well as recommendations which resulted from these visits.
A particular focus was placed on reinstating individuals who were wrongfully terminated or forced to retire following 1994’s civil war or the outbreak of multiple wars Sa’ada. The report recommended returning their administrative rights and proving them fair compensation for their financial losses.
The report further recommended that martyrs, wounded and disabled citizens who were wrongfully terminated be reinstated and properly compensated.
The report recommended that constitutional articles be drafted in order to prevent such rights violations from again occurring in the future.
There was also a recommendation for laws concerning military service, salaries and pensions to be reconsidered.
Also on Wednesday, the Pakistani and Malaysian Ambassadors to Yemen visited the Military and Security Working Group and learned about its agenda and recent activity.
