President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi has issued Republican Decree No. 41 for 2013, which covers the formation of an NDC Consensus Committee.
The committee is comprised of NDC Presidential Board members, working group chairpersons and an additional six NDC members.
Committee members will assist working groups with reaching a passable consensus on contentious issues, an effort which will include the suggestion of proposals designed to resolve disagreements.
Other duties will include holding deliberations with NDC members and political party representatives; coordination with working groups on their respective aims; and following up on the implementation of NDC decisions after the conference’s conclusion.
President Hadi also met on Sunday with United Nations Special Advisor to Yemen Jamal Benomar and his accompanying delegation.
Hadi briefed them on recent developments in Yemen, especially those related to the nation’s political transition process.
“The political transition is moving ahead successfully and there has been progress with the NDC’s activities,” he said.
