Female NDC members staged a demonstration in the lobby area of Sana’a’s Movenpick Hotel on Monday for the purpose of demanding a reconsideration of the representation of women in the newly-formed NDC Consensus Committee.

The Committee was formed via Republican Decree on Sunday.

Protesting members said female representation in the commission was lower than the 30% dictated in the NDC’s bylaws and demanded an end to what was termed the ‘marginalization of women’.
