NDC Presidential Board condemns delay of youths’ release from Sana’a Central Prison

3 June 2013 /

The NDC’s Presidential Board has strongly expressed condemnation of what has become an additional delay in the release of youths who were imprisoned in connection with the events of 2011.

At the board’s Sunday meeting, members said the release of youth inmates was part of the twenty points which the NDC Technical Committee put forward last year as one of the prerequisites for a productive, successful National Dialogue.

Furthermore, the board members called on authorities to address such extrajudicial arrests through the release not only all detainees who were arrested in connection with 2011’s Youth Revolution, but also those who were arrested in connection with southern protests.

The board members’ position coincided with demonstrations by various NDC members in solidarity with the imprisoned youths at Sana’a Central Prison.
