On Wednesday, representatives from civil society organizations, youth and women’s groups, and those on the NDC’s President’s List were selected for participation in the NDC’s second plenary meeting.
A total of 27 representatives were selected and it was agreed that the total number would be divided so that three representatives would be responsible for speaking each of the nine issues covered by the nine National Dialogue Working Groups.
NDC Secretary General Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak said the meeting of the above groups today was part of a comprehensive plan designed to allow for presentations of visions of all issues.
“The plan will help to organize all discussions at the 2nd NDC plenary and make all visions clear and focused,” he said.
bin Mubarak said these groups would be provided with working group final reports to aid their members in preparing visions of their own on the various NDC topics.
The Secretary General added that the representatives shouldn’t speak about issues their working groups were discussing during the first session, but that rather they should select different issues to talk about.
“At the second plenary, we will discuss the outcomes of the past two months; this is a key point. We are about to find out what the NDC members have done to serve the aspirations of the Yemeni people,” he said.
