NDC Sa’ada Issue Working Group Chairwoman Nabila Al-Zubair presented a final report on the group’s first session activities to members of all nine working groups on Wednesday.
Al-Zubair stated that the central issue which the group worked on was identifying and summarizing the Sa’ada issue’s ‘roots’ in accordance with the perceptions of various political parties and social segments.
The report included the group’s general aims, among which is the identification of the issue’s key components. More specifically, the group members plan to collect information and relevant documents, as well as conduct field visits.
The seven ‘root causes’ of the issue which were agreed upon by the group’s members were: failed state and power vacuum, weak development, external meddling, historic disharmony between religious groups, media biases, the manipulation of crises, and the repercussions of Houthi Leader Hussein Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi’s sectarian project.
