On Saturday, NDC Vice President Yasin Makkawi visited Sana’a Central Prison, where he asked questions about the situation of particular inmates, including Ahmed Omar Al-Marqashi, Ahmed Al-Abbadi and Omar Al-Abbadi Al-Marqashi.

Makkawi appealed to President Abdrabu Mansour Hadi to release the inmates because they had been imprisoned without having been charged or tried in accordance with Yemeni law.

"Two of the inmates were given long term sentences for arguments they had with people at popular markets," he said.
