NDC Rights and Freedoms Working Group Chairwoman Arwa Othman presented a final report on the group’s first session activities to members of all nine working groups on Sunday.
The report covered various issues which the group has worked on over the last two months, including rights and freedoms and other social, cultural and religious matters.
A particular emphasis was also placed on improving living conditions for a variety of marginalized societal groups, including citizens with disabilities, minorities, refugees and citizens who have been displaced from their homes.
The report stressed the need for constitutional articles to be prepared which would protect citizens’ rights and freedoms.
In all, the Rights and Freedoms Working Group report contained 123 decisions which the group’s members had reached agreement on.
