On Saturday, the NDC Media Center was the site of a meeting which brought together managers from local broadcast stations and leadership figures from the NDC’s Secretariat General.
At the meeting, NDC Secretary General Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak delivered a speech focused on the vital role of local broadcast stations in supporting the NDC through dialogue programs, awareness campaigns and general coverage of NDC activities.
“Most Yemeni people live in rural areas, which means radios represent the only way we can reach them and then convey their voices to the NDC as part of our community participation efforts,” he said.
“The Secretariat General is keen to receive all proposals and viewpoints from all citizens since it wishes to convey things the way they are,” he said. “All Yemeni citizens should understand that the NDC is transparent.”
For his part, Deputy NDC Secretary General Yassir Al-Roaini briefed those in attendance on the Secretariat General’s role and its logistical and technical responsibilities.
NDC Media Committee Director Muhammad Al-Asaadi then provided a review of the various services provided by the Media Committee.
Al-Asaadi highlighted the significance of coordination and communication between the Media Committee and broadcasting stations in the effort to raise awareness of the NDC and to enhance community participation efforts.
A couple of the media representatives spoke about the key role of radio broadcasts in NDC media campaigns.
