Ashjan Shreeh, a member of the NDC's Development Working Group, said on Wednesday that Amran is one of several Yemeni governorates suffering from negligence and development shortcomings.
She added, ''Despite its close proximity to the Yemeni capital of Sana'a and despite its many elements of rebirth in the agriculture and tourism sectors, the province has several problems.''
Ashjan said that when she traveled to Amran, she traveled with an anxiety and tension since she had only heard negative things about the governorate.
She continued, "What I had in mind about Amran was only the sound of gunfire; however, when I visited the governorate as a member of the NDC, my mind was changed. It is a beautiful governorate, and its residents are very kind.
''We traveled to many cities in Amran and we met many people there, who briefed us on their governorate’s problems and their needs. They have a good awareness of the problems facing their cities,” Ashjan concluded.
